Jerry West Mission Statement “Everyone has a destiny that God Himself has designed for them. My mission is to teach, instruct, enlighten, empower, and lead people into what God has destined them to be.” Biographical information on Jerry: Jerry comes from a long line of pastors and ministers of the gospel, one of which is Jonathan Edwards (The Great Awakening). He was called to the ministry at the age of 16 but chose to walk away from God in pursuit of a pro-baseball career. In 1983, he married the girl of his dreams, and received a call from the Los Angeles Dodgers to schedule him for a tryout that same year; that, however, was not what God had planned for him. After spending several years in the business world, he felt a call to leave and move into what God had called him to do. In September of 1989, Jerry answered the call of God on his life, and has not turned back. Jerry and Valerie are the founders of Jerry West Ministries (a multi-dimensional ministry), He is an ordained minister, and has been in ministry for 20 years, his first years were spent working in a local church in Orlando, FL and 10 years were spent with Team Strike Force (Keith Craft Ministries), and The Power Team. Now Jerry travels across America preaching, teaching and inspiring people to reach for more through biblical truths. In addition, Jerry is an author; songwriter, playwright and conference speaker. “If you will seek, delight in, and honor God, He will give you the desires of your heart, and He will empower you to do the impossible.” He is a nationally and internationally known speaker who has spoken to millions in churches, schools, conferences, and major events and been featured on national and international television such as TBN and Daystar. He has also led over 200,000 people to Christ. In addition, Jerry has shared the speaking platform with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, and Billy Blanks of Tae-Bo fame. “I love being in ministry, it is my passion, I love to mentor people, and challenge them to reach for the next level in the Lord. I get excited when people move from where they are today; to fulfilling their destiny and receiving all that God has promised his children.” His unique approach and insight to the Word of God, along with humor, will challenge every congregation to dream bigger and reach for more of what God has for them. Jerry and Valerie have been married for 26 years; they have 2 children and now a granddaughter. Currently, the West’s are one of the hosts for the Southeast Florida edition of Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Praise the Lord program that reaches 500,000 homes with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jerry was diagnosed with a terminal blood cancer in 2005. He had a long and hard fought battle with the disease, of which God has miraculously healed him. Jerry and Valerie along with the ministry are submitted to and under the covering of Bishop Tony Miller and Destiny World Outreach in Oklahoma City OK. Their pastor who also provides covering and oversight is Dr. Merton L. Clark of Truth Revealed Ministries in Palm Bay, FL.
